Welcome to Shy Smile, the website for sensitive souls

Congratulations! You're sensitive ... perhaps you're shy and maybe you have one of any number of labelous disorders which result in social challenges.

You don't have to be charismatic to be one of our community. You have a valid and respected place here, just by virtue of being YOU.

However, this is not a place for woes and doom. Talk about your problems by all means, but end on fun and laughter, and reach out to others in this safe environment.

I've created this forum because the only place I really feel safe is on the Net. I have Social Phobia Anxiety Disorder.

This is a place where you can be yourself. Enjoy it. I hope you love it as much as I loved creating it.

This website is designed for anyone who regards themselves as shy, but is willing to smile at themselves for time to time. It also encompasses Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder.

With love and sunshiney smiles, Neomie

How to Move Through Feelings of Loneliness

Support and understandingLoneliness can be an uncomfortable and cold feeling which many of us experience often, even when there are people around us. A feeling of disconnection is not a sign of failure, or proof that you will never have anyone to feel close to. You CAN change it, but it is likely to take some real effort to change and feel less alone.

How to help someone with Social Phobia

Support and understandingHow can I help someone overcome social phobia? Your shy friend will probably always receive false brain messages of worthlessness. You cannot help them overcome those feelings, but you can help them better deal with the feelings. You are helping already, by showing that you care.
